Why I started "Build Logs".

I decided to do a little blog type section called "Build Logs" so I could talk about builds and maybe shed some light on why some customers chose "this over that" or "why this caliber". Ill keep it short and sweet, something you can enjoy in a few minutes why your setting on the shitter or on the porch smoking a cigar. Also its always good to get to know your builder....Well anyway lets dive right in!

I’m starting this log with my personal RUM. Yah I like big bangers. Why? Because after 20 yrs almost straight of shooting coyotes for all to see on TV, my show called "Dog Soldier" I shot 6mm and .224's almost 100%. When I got into gun building almost 6 years ago now I started shooting a lot more and variety. Customers were all over the place. .224, .20's, 375's, ect. Just about anything you can imagine. I wanted to shoot big again. I wanted a gun I could be accurate with, shoot high bc bullets way out there with enough energy to kill a big Muley’s at 1000 or an elk. Also, I wanted to buck the wind and really hone down on my skills for shooting past 1000.

I chose to reload rounds with 220 ELD-X, 4350, and this is getting around 3150 with an SD of around 12. I don't chase SD like most because it all falls into place for me if they create ragged holes. I also forgot to mention above I use Hawkins flush hunter bottom metal and mags. They are CIP and handle this missile very well.

If you see the caption above for specs you will see the 26" stick has a T3 break on it. I was turned on to these by a freind of mine, Randy Simmons, an avid 300rum guy and boy was he right. An all day shooter, no soreness, no cuts in your forehead, just plain big boom and pleasure. I freekin love this combo and have built so many now and with Randy's help getting one to bug hole is cake!
